Rania’s Point Of View
In a strategic move, I set up a meeting with Dimitri and Amy after dinner, allowing them to ease into a new and important relationship over a meal before delving into an analysis of my replacement’s methods and bodyguarding style.
I wasn’t concerned for Amy’s future safety because I planned to be nearby, except when she enjoyed her personal time and space.
Victor seemed pensive, probably due to the move back to Florence and lingering uncertainty over who would replace Kasimir as his head of security. I could understand why; of all my work colleagues ever, the kind-hearted yet ruthless Russian was the best and my firm favorite.
“Dimitri is a perfect bodyguard for Amy, Rania.”
“I know that, but how do you know, Victor… oh, hold on, of course… Kasimir.”
“They are brothers, after all. I checked because only the very best person can protect my wife. You would always be my first choice, Kasimir my second, his brother… well, I’m sure you get the picture.”
“I spoke with Kasimir too. He appears to have no concerns over Dimitri sliding in easily to take over from me.”
“He is convinced you made the best possible choice. Kasimir’s concern is for you and him.”
“Me and Kasimir? That’s a bit odd, Victor.”
