I always look forward to the new episode of KEJ. This one was particularly good because we got to find out the specifics about Natalia and why it affected Jacob so profoundly. As how she was found was being described I cried. It’s completely understandable why Jacob was affected the way he was. Finding adults had to have been painful on a human scale but a child….I don’t think it matters how strong or tough a person is finding a child the way Natalia was found then taking days to show her kindness in the way she was removed I don’t know if I would ever recover from that. I just can’t imagine.Damn Kate, I see a lot of comments about how you make the reader feel like they are a part of the story. I agree and this, in particular, got me. Then you finished on a happy, fun note with Kate and Jacob so the reader (me) isn’t sad all day. Damn, you’re good!
She is that good and does it consistently. Amazing author, to the point it becomes difficult to heap more praise upon her without being obsequious. Her depth shows in a piece like this chapter. Such feeling and sensitivity. Yes, she makes all of us stand silently right in the middle of each chapter. You think I should mention some of this to her? Knah, she probably will read this. Love you Kate!
I was thinking about the number of stories she’s able to put out every week that are never boring. I’ve been writing, deleting and rewriting the same damn story for about a year now! lol Guess that’s the difference between “I think I can” and having an actual gift.
I hope she sees it because it’s so true. A little bit more and I would have offered Jacob a hand getting up off his knees since I was standing there with everyone, you know. 🤣🤣
I’m delighted at thus outcome Kate. Jacob richly deserves it. I know he still has a journey to follow, just as I know he’ll never entirely be clear of PTSD, but this has been e-lifting for me. Thanks yet again.
Thank you John. I loved writing the PTSD plot arc because it gave an opportunity to research and learn. I’m thrilled you enjoyed this chapter and appreciate you sticking with the story

Hi Maria, sorry it took me so long to get to all the comments. Thank you for being so kind and leaving such a great comment.
