A good start to a trip of growth and exploration. Family fun. (I rode a bike for about fifty years. Still miss it. I started back in sixty-six. First big trip in sixty-nine. Anna and I flew to England bought a Royal Enfield 750 and toured England and the continent for three months. Sleeping in a small pup tent. Great times.) Thank you for the quickie, Kate. Have a nice afternoon.

Hi Bill, a Royal Enfield around UK must have been immense fun. By the dates you traveled in the UK I wonder if you ever met Bill Bryson. He wrote a brilliant book called Notes From A Small Island. He's written many others of course but that remains my favorite. All his books are in our family library.

I have read Bryson's book and enjoyed it. The trip was a great learning experience. I was in Fiorenza (according to a local map of Italy) standing there looking at Gebertie's (Sp?) Gates of Paradise which I'd studied in an art history class. I intelligently said to Anna "No those are supposed to be in Florence, not Fiorenza." My Italian has not improved for which I shall be sorry for a while. Going through France I passed a large Micheline Tire and realized I was on part of the Speedway. In England in 69 cars were mostly used on weekends for a drive. Anna and I sat on one of the huge rocks at Stonehenge having a picnic. We wandered through ruins that weren't fenced, barricaded and railinged. It was wonderful. wandering down Hadrian's wall. Thank you, Kate.

Hi Bill. I love the Bryson books because he brings readers into the stories. You and Anna have had an immense adventure. It must be worth getting down in writing. Sorry I missed this comment first time around.

Had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Met a lot of good people from all over. Watched the moon landing on a B&W 10-inch TV in a camper with a bunch of folks in a camp in Italy (Florence I think) They all cheered and slapped us on the back like we'd done it ourselves. Fun times. Have a nice lunch.

So wonderfully debauched Kate, just as I like it. As an MP I too had the pleasure of riding a motorbike, but for my work, mostly in Singapore. Now that was a great job.

I’m sure riding a motorbike must have been fun but also interesting times. I don’t know how Singapore was when you were there but the whole region, especially Malaysia was full of terrible drivers... the road signs were mostly advisory 😂😂😂

You never cease to amaze this avid reader. I enjoy your diversity in settings and the very real sexual aspect. You are wonderful at telling the story without alluding to what happened but in a comfortable explanation. What an amazing gift for a writer. Another award winning "Quicky By Katie" (QBK), thank you, that one was fun!
