We delayed our departure to Greenland by a day. The reason was something about needing more security when we arrived at Nuuk. Our family and friends took the opportunity to spend more time packing at home, which meant Stanza couldn’t join us because she was locking up instead of Greg, who was already aboard Planet Nine, making arrangements for our Greenland cocktail party.
I felt excited to be moving on, especially because we were introducing Emily and Jack to the world.
Victor and I slept together, which somehow felt odd in that we were alone. I was usually the bit in the middle, but I had space beside me through the night and didn’t like it.
Bizarrely, Jack and Emily slept the best since birth, waking once at 3 a.m. for a feed. Victor claimed it was the gentle hum from Planet Nine’s engines as they generated our running power, but I believed it was the whole experience of being on board our love boat.
