Arriving home felt utterly surreal. As soon as we left the main road, heading up the drive, it was the same property we’d left a day ago, minus the deep azure skies and views over Savannah, which were replaced with stunning vistas of our craggy coastline.
It didn’t feel like I was coming home.
Agnes burst out laughing, pointing at the home she’d left behind in Kenya, while Jeremy’s mouth gaped wide open, and a strangled sound came out. I giggled and pointed at his comical expression.
“I told you, Jeremy - it’s exactly the same house down to the last nail.”
“I knew it was, but now, being here… it’s amazing.”
“Can you understand why I was shaken up when I saw the Kenya version?”
“Yeah… I get it - seeing is believing.”
