The stars twinkled brightly in a stunning night sky with little light pollution or moonlight to dull their enthusiasm. I leaned against the balcony while Emily selected and poured a glass of white wine. She was an enthusiastic viticulture student who, in just over two weeks, had thoroughly picked my brains on the subject of Austrian wines.
I was glad for a moment alone because I had decided to make a crucial phone call.
“It’s a very risky strategy, Anya. Are you sure this is the right thing to do?”
“I’m not rushing in. If anything, I am second-guessing myself too much.”
“That’s not good either.”
