Our trip to Austria was on, and I felt excited as I showered, ready for the first day of a new beginning. Emily had to leave right after breakfast, Jason walked Toby, so I had time to think before meeting Hannah and Scott at our new offices.
I wanted to be on time, adhering to my usual routine, not for any reason other than it synced with my vibe and rhythm. Also, I wanted to be at Bean Cafe, in line, where I should be, among my people. Christian nodded from behind the counter, beckoning me forward to jump the line. I shook my head, determined never to do that to anyone, for any reason.
I happily stood in line at Bean Cafe observing a morning tradition, albeit without Hannah, who said she had chores to do. Today, I wore my favorite faded, blue jeans, a baby blue T-shirt, and my half-leg leather, pattern-embossed cowboy boots. I would have worn the hat my father bought me after I graduated from College, too, but it would have seemed out of place.
